Currently, DDA doesn’t have an in-built license key function. We are working hard on getting it done, but it isn’t ready yet. We do have a workaround, though!
How to enable license keys with DDA for digital products
So the rundown on how this works is:
- Use DDA for digital product delivery with file protection
- Use Selling Codes for the license key delivery
Both apps work well alongside each other.
Step 1 – Install the DDA app if you haven’t already
Installing DDA will give you the ability to sell digital products in the best way you possibly can on Shopify. It’s built by us, to be the most comprehensive digital downloads app which provides file protection.

Step 2 – Install the Selling Codes app or another license key app you choose

This app allows you to sell codes and link them to your Shopify products. It works in a similar way to DDA but essentially provides the license key ability that works alongside it.
