You may want to block access to the downloads for many reasons. Maybe the customers are sharing the links to friends, maybe they have caused fraudulent activity, or maybe their order was refunded.
Downloads are automatically blocked on orders that are:
The Digital Assets app will block access to the downloads immediately as soon as any of the above criteria has happened on the order. This is available on all plans including the free plan.

Which plan do I need for the ‘Order expiration’ feature?
You will need the Starter plan or above.
Blocking a customer from downloading their files
This option is only available on the paid plans – Starter plan, Scale plan and Professional plans.
Step 1 – Go to the order
- Go to Downloadable Digital Assets
- Go to the ‘Orders’ page
- Click on the order that you want to block
Step 2 – Set the expiry date to a date in the past
Go to ‘Order expiration’ and click on the blue pencil icon. You need to set a date that is previous to the present. This will class the order as expired.
Remember this feature is only available on our paid plans. If you are on our free plan, you will need to upgrade.
Let’s say the date is 10/12/2021, then you need to change the date to the day before like – 09/12/2021.
That’s it, this will permanently set the expiration on the order and the customers will not be able to access their downloads.
